A serious law-and-order situation unfolded on the janpath road after an ‘Ama Bus’ collided with a motorcycle, triggering unrest among local residents, officials said. Following the accident, an agitated crowd vandalised the bus involved, creating panic in the area.

Police sources said the situation escalated further when two more Ama Buses passing through the stretch were attacked, taking the total number of damaged buses to three. The sudden outbreak of violence led to chaos on the highway and briefly disrupted traffic movement.

According to officials, the driver and conductor of the bus fled the spot, fearing for their safety as the crowd turned hostile. There was no immediate confirmation on whether the motorcyclist or others sustained injuries in the collision.

Police personnel rushed to the spot and carried out a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and restore order. The situation was later brought under control, officials said.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident and the subsequent vandalism. Authorities said appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
