An Interview With ‘On a Wing and a Prayer’ Director Sean McNamara

Sean McNamara knows his way around Hollywood.

One of the most prolific directors in the industry, McNamara has helmed more than 30 movies and lots of television shows, ranging from reality series (Candid Camera) to kids’ fair (including several episodes of Even Stevens and That’s So Raven) to inspirational dramas (including 2015’s Spare Parts).

But he’s perhaps best known for his acclaimed Christian-tinged films, including Soul Surfer, The Miracle Season and, now on Amazon’s Prime Video, On a Wing and a Prayer. And later this year, he’ll trot out perhaps his highest-profile movie yet: the biopic Reagan.

I had a chance to talk with McNamara recently, and we chatted about his latest film, how his faith impacts his work and what advice he might have for other Christian storytellers. He’s a super-nice guy, and I hope you enjoy our talk.
