How to Care for the Chest Pain Patient in the ER | Emergency Nursing

Описание к видео How to Care for the Chest Pain Patient in the ER | Emergency Nursing

In this video, we approach chest pain from the ER nurse perspective. We see what actions the ER nurse can take to care for and help treat the chest pain patient. We see what a myocardial infarction is, what symptoms someone might have, how to assess the MI patient, and much more. We will see that chest pain is a time sensitive diagnosis, and what diagnostic actions the nurse can take.
Nursing interventions include getting an EKG within 10 minutes of arrival, placing the patient on the cardiac monitor, starting an IV, and following the acronym MONA.
We will briefly talk about the treatment differences between a STEMI and an NSTEMI, with a further breakdown coming in a later video.
