1995: Arizona Cardinals vs Washington Redskins Remastered NFL Highlights

Part of the joy of this RetroSkins project is sharing forgotten, yet no less fun, Redskins wins from yesteryear. An opening day victory is always fun, especially at home.

The rebuilding Redskins put a 9-game home losing streak (sigh) and a 15-game NFC East losing streak (ugh!) behind them, defeating the visiting Arizona Cardinals and the lovably villainous Buddy Ryan on this sunny September day at RFK. (Yes, youngsters, the Cardinals we once an NFC East team.)

This game introduced many new notable 90's Redskins (Terry Allen, Michael Westbrook, Leslie Shepard, Stanley Richards) while familiar names from the glory days dwindled to a select few. Fan favorite Gus Frerotte stepped in for Heath Shuler (sidelined by a separated shoulder in the 2nd quarter) and staged a sparkling second-half performance to the delight of the win-starved RFK faithful.

Remastered from an original VHS recording to 1080p digital in full compliance with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 (long story).
