On 15th January 2015 the first live presidential debate was broadcast on television all over Uganda.

8 presidential candidates were invited to take part and 7 turned up. These were Kizza Besigye, Abed Bwanika, Amama Mbabazi, Benon Biraaro, Venansius Baryamureeba, Joseph Mabirizi and Maureen Kyalya.
