Oklahoma Fans Rush Field Prematurely After Huge Win Over Alabama | Kirk Herbstreit Reacts

Oklahoma fans couldn’t hold back their excitement during the Sooners' 24-3 upset victory over No. 7 Alabama on Saturday night. With 28 seconds still left on the clock, fans stormed the field at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to celebrate a season-defining win. The scene, however, drew criticism and humor from ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who compared the fans’ impulsive behavior to “sheep.”

The game ended with Oklahoma taking one final knee, officially sealing the victory. The win made the Sooners bowl-eligible for the 26th consecutive season, but it came at a cost: a $100,000 fine under the SEC's “access to competition area” policy.

This wasn’t the only chaotic field-storming of the weekend. Arizona State fans rushed the field prematurely during their 28-23 win over BYU, causing a 15-minute delay before the game could conclude.

For Alabama, the loss further dampens a frustrating season under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer, officially ending their College Football Playoff hopes.
