Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai was born in 1689, 1101 AH in Tehsil Hala of the present district of Matiari. Your father Syed Habib Shah lived in Hala Haveli. He was one of the prominent personalities of this region.[3]

It is known about the birth of Shah Sahib that Syed Habib Shah married three times in a row but was bereft of children. You mentioned your deprivation to a Dervish Kamil, whose name is Abdul Latif. The Prophet prayed and said that God willing, your wish will come true. I want you to name your son after me but Abdul Latif. If God wills, it will be unique in terms of its characteristics.

Syed Habib Shah had a child from his first wife. According to the wish of the dervish, he was named Abdul Latif. But he died in childhood. Then, when another boy was born from the same wife, he was named Abdul Latif. This boy went ahead and according to Darvish's prediction, the only job was done.

Shah Abdul Taif Bhitai is also known as the "Poet of the Seven Surmyons".[4]
