Mrs DragBoss: The Last Runs Of The 769HP 351 Ford Cleveland, Taken Out By An Broken Oil Pump Pick Up

These are the last two runs by DragBoss Cougar. This was another family outing to the dragstrip, to watch DragBoss, try and make a 9.2X pass. The family loves to go there and watch all the actions, and cars. After seeing DragBoss work over the last 5 years, on the 409 ci Ford Cleveland, and the Cougar itself, so rewarding to smell, hear, and see the old Cat run. After the second pass, turning onto return road, the Cougar died. DragBoss said he got it started, ran rough, he drove it back to the trailer, and right on it. He told us what had happened....

After shifting into high, the oil pressure gauge, dropped to 0 psi. He finished the run, and drove it back to the trailer with no oil pressure. ...Engine yanked, found a broken pick up, that starved the engine. This lack of oil pressure, burned up the crankshaft and rods. Nothing exploded. No one injured, and no crash. He was pretty disappointed, don't let him fool you. Would not look at or touch anything in DBG. We had a lot of family activities, and yard work. Most done, and he still has not been back to work on Cougar. I think he is ready soon.
