Hamish the 4 month old Border Terrier puppy - 2 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Hamish the 4 month old Border Terrier puppy has completed his 2 week residential training holiday

Like most puppies this year, Hamish missed out on vital socialisation during lockdown.

When Hamish arrived for training, he lacked confidence and would be worried by his surroundings, which led to him hiding between his owners legs when dogs approached and would bark and growl. He would also get over excited during playing with other dogs, and would bark in frustration when play was stopped.

After 2 weeks of living with one of our trainers in their family home, his confidence has grown and he is now more confident around other dogs. He has learnt to make appropriate dog friends with known dogs, and can respond to his training around unknown dogs so he doesn't feel the need to interact with dogs he doesn't know.

Hamish can now walk nicely on the lead, which is important for walking through busy London at his home. He can come when called, respond to cues at a distance and go to Middle when he feels unsure.

This has given his owners a fantastic foundation for his training. Not only does it give them a really clear starting place with his training, but they now have a clear and simple training plan to follow moving forward. Our owner training sessions are very successful at transferring the training back to the owners and they receive lifetime access to our Online Academy for ongoing support

If you're considering a stay for your dog, we have a few last spaces available before and during Xmas

Or for help from home. Join our Online Academy VIP CLUB to get daily support with your training and see how we train everything from step 1
