"Music for Everyone, Everywhere: Inviting Chaos, Heresy and Chance into Classical Performance Practice"

Since their first performance in July 2018, the Nevis Ensemble has given 170 free performances to around 25,500 people all across Scotland. From a farm in the Scottish Borders to the summit of Ben Nevis in the Highlands, and as far afield as the remote archipelago of St Kilda in the Atlantic Ocean, concerts have taken place in venues as diverse as swimming pools, children’s parks, prisons, life-drawing classes, museums, homeless centres, train stations and supermarket aisles. Running in parallel to this frenetic public pop-up performance schedule is a carefully plotted patchwork of embedded, community-based performances. Holding fast to the maxim "Music for everyone, everywhere", the ensemble nurtures partnerships with voluntary and third-sector organisations to ensure the most vulnerable and marginalised in society do not miss out.
