Muir Creek Beach: Great BC Beaches

Some video and stills showcasing the beach by Muir Creek, near Sooke on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. This includes scenes of the creek, the beach, sandstone formations and fossils, and kite surfers. As with many beaches in the area, there is a great view of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, across the Juan de Fuca Strait.

To get to Muir Creek Beach from Victoria BC, take Highway 14 passed Sooke, and watch for the sign for the bridge over Muir Creek. There's a bit of parking on the left just after the bridge. From the parking lot there are two paths, one to the creek and one to the beach.

There are no restaurants or stores close to this beach, so you may want to bring snacks or a picnic.
