How to remanufacture and reset OPC Drum Unit for Brother HL-5440D HL-5450 HL-5470 HL-6180 DCP-8110DN DCP-8150DN DCP-8155DN DCP-8250DN MFC-8510DN MFC-8520DN MFC-8710DW MFC-8810DW MFC-8910DW MFC-8950DW DR-720 DR-3300 DR-3355 DR-3325

The drum unit is rated for 30,000 pages.
There are different part numbers for these drum unit depending on the region.
America DR720
Europe DR3300
Asia/Africa DR3355
Oceania DR3325

REQUIRED THINGS:
Drum
Screwdriver
Better if you have compressed air

Note: there are three types of “Replace Drum” messages:
1. DRUM ERROR: clean the corona wire using the corona wire cleaner. Use a cotton swab dampened with alcohol or ammonia to clean the corona wire. Verify all electrical contacts between drum unit and printer. If this does not clear the error, the drum unit needs to be replaced.
2. REPLACE PART (Drum): The drum unit has exceeded the rated life. Do the reset procedure.
3. DRUM STOP: Print quality may be diminished if the unit is not replaced or remanufactured.

RESET PROCEDURES:

HL-5440D HL-5450 HL-5470
Make sure the power is on.
Open the front cover.
Press and hold "GO" button until all lights light up.
Once all six lights are lit up, release "GO" button.
Close the front cover. The drum counter is reset.

HL-6180:
Open the front cover.
Press and hold the "GO" button. "DRUM CLEAR" will show on the display.
Close the front cover.
The drum counter is reset.

MFC and DCP Machines:
Open the front cover and press "CLEAR." button
The display shows "REPLACE DRUM?" Select "#1-YES."
The display shows "ACCEPTED".
Close the front cover. The drum counter is reset.
