Caitlyn Jenner says Ellen DeGeneres took her comments on gay marriage 'out of context'

Caitlyn Jenner says when she appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" shortly after coming out as transgender, her comments about gay marriage were taken out of context.
"I went on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show,' and honestly I wasn't planning on going on her show but there was this girl I met in San Francisco, a trans girl, Blossom, who wanted to go to nursing school, didn't have the money, this and that, so I called up Ellen and I said, 'Hey, look. There's this girl. Maybe we can do something to have her on -- and she loves Ellen -- have her on the show. And I told her the story and I showed her some videotape of her and she goes, 'OK, I'll have her on but the deal is you've got to come on with her.' I went, 'Ehh, OK.' I didn't want to do media at that time. I don't want to be everywhere. But for Blossom I thought -- and she was going to help her with her college tuition -- I thought, 'Why not?' So, I'll go on. Did the interview and she asked about the Marriage Equality Act and, you know, I kind of told her about my progression and it was totally taken out of context because, you know, this is a progression over 20 years. I came from a different generation of people and I didn't quite understand the issues and the word marriage but as time went on, I came around. Just like Obama was against it, Hillary was against it, everybody was at first. But as time went on everybody went, you know, 'Maybe this is not a bad idea.' And it got to that point. Well, it came, all of a sudden I was against gay marriage and it was everywhere. Then she went on Howard Stern and kind of pushed it again and yeah, it really hurt me, because I'm not. I'm not against it. I'm all for gay marriage, Marriage Equality Act."
