My name is Patrick, and I’ve been playing Yu-Gi-Oh! ever since the very first starter decks were released in the TCG. I still remember the day my grandfather bought for me the Starter Deck: Yugi—that moment was the start of it all. we would also go for walks very frequently and he would often get me a pack of cards at the 7/11 we would walk to. This must have been around 2001 or 2002, and as I write this, I can’t help but think he’d be looking down on me, proud to know he was there with me at the very beginning of this incredible journey.

Yu-Gi-Oh! has always been more than just a game to me. It’s taught me the true power of friendship—the strength and courage that comes from someone believing in you will stay with you, even if they’re no longer by your side. It’s also taught me to never give up, no matter what, until the very last card is played.
