We touched on this in the stream from a few weeks ago, so I thought we should look at the earliest story together to clear a few things up about this character. There is an understandable debate, with a decent dose of confusion built upon the dictionary definitions, around this character, "ha-satan." Is he an "adversary" as the dictionary on the Hebrew Bible claims, the one that most seminarians and master's students use when learning biblical Hebrew? I think you will find that he is not! Is that character the same as the one people know of in Revelation? I think you will find that the character "satan" is conflated directly with "the devil" in the book of Revelation. Shame shame on the writer of Revelation! :) Let's take a look together.
