The EASIEST Way To Build A Ground Level Deck - NO FOOTINGS!

This video will show you the easiest and most efficient way to build a ground level deck! There are a few things to consider when building a ground level deck to ensure it will actually stand the test of time. In this method we are utilizing a crushed stone base instead of footings. Having this 6" stone base under the deck framing ensures that there will be proper drainage under the deck. This may not actually be the easiest way to build a deck but I have found it is the easiest way to build it that will actually last. one of the most important things to ensure is that the entire deck frame is tied together really well with lots of bracing so that it acts as one unit and will resist movement. Because the base layer under the deck is a free draining stone, water will not be in contact with the deck frame which is important for it's longevity.
