Dopping a gemstone with Super Glue - Faceting Lesson 4

This is my preferred method for doping a stone for cutting, The glue will put a STRONG hold on your stone. I also demonstrate how to remove the stone and clean off the glue.

If your stone is heat sensitive like an opal, simply let it sit in the alcohol overnight to loosen and dissolve the bond instead of heating it. But do not do this with hydrophane type opal.

The only downside: If the stone comes off mid cutting, there is no wax imprint to help with re-dopping.
