This video follows the approval by the Swiss parliament in September 2023 of a new set of policy measures on renewable electricity, called the Mantelerlass. It sets a new target of 35 TWh/year of new renewable technologies by 2035.

Therefore, the EDGE consortium of the SWEET programme of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, which brings together scientists from the University of Geneva, the University of Bern, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and other partners, has defined three strategy options for attaining the new target at minimum cost.
