The EU is set to publish a list of non-cooperative jurisdictions on tax on 5 December.

The Tax Justice Network working with the University of Ghent in Belgium and Open Data for Tax Justice looked at how those criteria might apply to a number of countries around the world.

We also looked at how those criteria might apply to European Union countries and found that 6 would meet the test of being a tax haven under the EU criteria.

The EU have said that they will not list EU countries as tax havens. However, one of the countries that does meet the criteria of a tax haven, the UK, is soon to leave the EU, raising questions over whether Brexit lead to the EU sanctioning the UK for its tax haven activities.
