আরব সাগরের মাঝে এমন এক দ্বীপ রয়েছে যেখানে এলিয়েনদের দেখা না মিললেও ভৌগলিক পরিবেশ এবং গাছপালার ভিন্নতার কারণে একে এলিয়েন দ্বীপ বলা হয়।
পৃথিবীর অন্য কোনো কিছুর সঙ্গে মিল নেই এই দ্বীপের। যেমন অদ্ভূত চেহারার গাছপালা এখানে, তেমনি অদ্ভূত এখানকার পশুপাখি। এই দ্বীপকে ভীনগ্রহের কোন জায়গা বললেও ভুল হবে না!
আরব সাগরের মাঝে মাথা উঁচু করে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে সুকাত্রা দ্বীপ। যদিও সুকাত্রাকে শুধু দ্বীপ বললে ভুল হবে। এটি চারটি দ্বীপের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত। এদের মধ্যে সুকাত্রা সব থেকে বড়। বাকী তিনটি হলো, আব্দ আল কুরি, দার্সা এবং সামহা। ৩,৭৯৬ বর্গ কিলোমিটার ভূমি বিশিষ্ট এ দ্বীপপুঞ্জ দৈর্ঘ্যে ১৩২ কিলোমিটার এবং প্রস্থে ৫০ কিলোমিটার। প্রদেশটির রাজধানীর নাম হাদিবু।
