Grunge is the aesthetic of a generation that has now been recovered and reinterpreted to fit today’s modern youth. It pays homage to societal disdain and the sense of hopelessness, or rather, embodies it. The grunge cynicism maintains a great fondness for the music and fashion of the 90s, with its lyricism and gloomy disposition serving as a much-welcomed escape.

The most common motifs now associated with the grunge room aesthetic are pretty consistent with punk rock inspirations.
