Ego String Trimmer Will Not Wind String In (ST1521S, ST1520, ST1520S, ST1524, ST1510T, ST1511T)

The EGO brand string trimmers with the power load string head system were a BIG game changer in the industry. It made it MUCH easier for people to be able to reload trimmer line into the string head of their string trimmer. As great as this feature is, it is outdoor power equipment so there is always the possibility of something eventually causing it to not work correctly. In this video we show you an issue that can occur with the Ego power load system that causes the string head to not function properly and wind more trimmer line in. The cause of this issue is almost always a build up of dirt, debris, or something getting wrapped up in the trimmer's cutting head area above the string head. This cause the parts of the string head to not be able to move as far as necessary to pull the trimmer line in when trying to rewind the string. We're sure plenty of people that have encountered this situation probably went out and bought a new complete power load string head assy and while they were removing the old head to install the new one they probably cleaned out the dirt or whatever was causing the original head to function correctly. Of course by doing this when they install the new head and it works it will be easy to think that replacing the entire string head somehow solved the issue.
