Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was first launched in 2017, not long after the release of the Nintendo Switch - the console the game was designed for. The first release shocked the gaming world. Those crazy little white Rabbids are teaming up with *the Mario*?
And… it’s going to be a turn-based game?
And… Mario has a GUN?
Well, despite the shock, the game turned out to be a hit, with 10 million players and counting.

7NEWS.com.au was invited to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at Ubisoft Milan, to meet the team that made Sparks of Hope - including the man who dreamt it all up.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is the brainchild of Ubisoft Milan Creative Director Davide Soliani. He is a lifelong Nintendo fan, who once waited for 10 hours to meet Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
