Carlsen crushes and motivates Firouzja | Nimzo-Indian, Sämisch

Описание к видео Carlsen crushes and motivates Firouzja | Nimzo-Indian, Sämisch

Featured is an instructive blitz chess game between Alireza Firouzja and Magnus Carlsen from the 2024 Speed Chess Championship Finals held in Paris, France. Carlsen plays the Nimzo-Indian Defense and Firouzja chooses the Sämisch variation. With the resulting structure in the Sämisch, black is welcome to a queen exchange. Carlsen's approach is to find a safe haven for his king on the queenside, and to create multiple pawn exchanges on the kingside to open lines. The opened position compels Firouzja, whose king is without a cozy home, to seek a queen exchange. It would not be long after that Carlsen penetrates Firouzja's position. Carlsen's accuracy for this game was an amazing 99%. Carlsen became the 2024 Speed Chess Champion with a crushing match score of 23.5 to 7.5, and it motivated Firouzja in the end.
