I powered two Homemade e-bikes with a Litime 36V LifeP04 Trolling motor battery. I did a full review and testing of the Litime 36V 50Ah battery. I also show a DIY 36V charger, how to power a 48V ebike with a 36V battery and a range test of my 36V 500-watt bike. Big thanks to Litime for sending out the battery. Links are being added below. Litime sent me the battery for an unbiased review, so I put it through its paces and was very happy with its performance. I installed the Litime 36V battery onto a homemade 500-watt chain-drive ebike with a DC brushed motor, and did a range test. I was able to travel 107 km in total and used the full 1920 watt-hours of the battery. I could have gone farther on a bike with a brushless motor, but I was very pleased with the range. My bike is chain-drive, and regen is not possible, so the Litime battery would have even gotten more range if equipped with regen. I tested the battery on ebikes because I don't have a functioning boat right now; my boat needs some repairs, but the bike motor is similar to a trolling motor and draws a max of about 30 amps under load. The construction of the battery is good, and it was able to withstand riding over rough roads. The battery is equipped with cold weather protection and has a built-in App, which is a must-have, to monitor capacity and turn off the battery. I used a 1200-watt boost module to power the 48V controller on my 500-watt hub motor bike. This is possible but not ideal. Overall, I'm very happy with the Litime 36V trolling motor battery. I was able to run the battery to its full capacity until the BMS cut out. The capacity of this battery is spot on, maybe even more than stated. Also, this battery has a reserve unlike some other LifeP04 batteries I have used. This battery is superior to lead acid batteries in many ways, from weight, depth of discharge (DOD). A lead-acid battery should not be dropped below 50% capacity. The ability to charge it quickly with a large amount of current, unlike a lead-acid battery. It would take three 80 Ah lead acid batteries to equal one of these 50Ah Litime batteries. The Litime 36V trolling motor battery is not only for boats, it's also a perfect battery to power a 36V inverter and a better option due to less current usage.
