Solo Brake Bleeding: The Genius and Stupidity of the Gunson Eezibleed

Описание к видео Solo Brake Bleeding: The Genius and Stupidity of the Gunson Eezibleed

The product I'm testing in this video is almost really great. It's a device which allows you to bleed your vehicle's brakes (or hydraulic clutch) by yourself without any fancy shop equipment, aside from maybe a tire inflator. By hooking it up to a spare tire, you can use that air pressure to push old brake fluid and air bubbles through the system while you go around the car to crack open the bleeder screws. No pausing needed, no second person needed to pump the pedal – a really clever idea! It's called the Gunson Eezibleed.

It works great if one of the adapters in the kit fits your vehicle's brake (or clutch) fluid reservoir. I had a successful test on my Volvo 240. In the event that you need a different size, they sell a "multi-purpose cap" to adapt to other applications. This is where things fall apart. This cap seals about as well as a screen door on a submarine. I tried it on my Opel Manta and Mazda Miata with the same disappointing results.

So what I thought would be a versatile tool I could use on 3 different cars, turned out to be something with very limited use in my case. Admittedly, I have a weird variety of cars. If I had all European cars with the same cap size, I'm sure I'd be much happier with it. In fairness, the system itself works well. The only real letdown is the "multi-purpose cap" and the lack of availability of any other adapters.

I tried my best to find ways around the shortcomings, as you'll see in the video, but ultimately this wasn't as successful as I'd hoped. Hope you enjoy the struggle and learn something!
