Kat Eggleston "Sound the Pibroch" with Kate MacLeod

"Sound the Pibroch" in my opinion, is one of Kat's best songs.
It is not a song about Bonnie Prince Charlie; rather it is a lament and tribute for the brave loyal Highlanders who laid down their lives against overwhelming forces in a rearguard action, thus allowing Prince Charles Stewart to escape after the carnage of Culloden.
"Pibroch" is not an instrument. It is a form of ancient Scottish music to commemorate an event - almost musical history. Traditionally it was played on the bagpipes. It can be thought of as classical Scottish music with a meaning much deeper than that designed to entertain only, such as dance music which may also be played on the pipes. This song itself can be thought of as "Pibroch."
"Tha tighin fodham," pronounced Hatcheen Fo-um means "I have the wish," or in the context of this song, "I know my duty and will acquit it without regard to the consequences" - almost certain death.
