The superstar best song nominee kicked off the show with a rendition of her Oscar-nominated track "Be Alive," from 'King Richard.' The performance was introduced by two tennis stars.

Beyoncé Knowles and her backup dancers, including daughter Blue Ivy, were all decked out in neon tennis ball yellow while performing for the Oscars on a tennis court in Compton, California, where the Williams sisters Venus and Serena grew up training with their father.

The intro Footage of young black women, astride a black stallion, walking through the streets of Compton was perhaps a nod to accomplishment. Returning back to where it all began is by far a better idea than performing on the Oscar stage.

The “Be Alive” performance included intricate choreography, a powerful shout-out to Compton and unparalleled glamour. Beyonce was wearing a custom design David Koma that included a neon yellow sequined and feather dress from his Spring 2022 and fall collection.

The backup dancers were in complimenting outfits and braided hair carrying tennis racks like an army of Williams.
