MAN — Old English Runes (20)

Описание к видео MAN — Old English Runes (20)

In Old English, man meant human. A male human was a weapman (a person who carries weapons) and a female human was a wifman (a person who weaves).

Man is dear to his kinsmen in mirth;
yet each one must fail the others,
since by his judgement the lord wishes to commit the poor flesh to earth.

Man byþ on myrgþe his magan leof:
sceal þeah anra gehwylc oðrum swican,
forðum drihten wyle dome sine
þæt earme flæsc eorþan betæcan
