It's our First VGC Pokémon Draft League!

Welcome to the NABZ Pokémon VGC Draft League!

In this League, the coaches will build teams using the Regulation H ruleset and battle every week in a full season of strategic gameplay, prep, and analysis. Expect intense matches, surprise picks, creative team building, and plenty of entertainment! Being able to switch up movesets, EV's, and what six Pokémon you bring each week will allow for some creative gameplay!

Key aspects of the NABZ draft include:

Draft League Rules and Format:

Unique Pokémon: Each Pokémon drafted is unique and cannot be chosen by another coach

Snake Draft System: The draft follows a snake draft format, where the pick order reverses each round

Budget and Team Size: Each player has a budget of 100 points to draft 10 Regulation H Pokémon for the entire season (point cost determined by power level) The pricing of Pokémon varies, making strategic choices crucial

Season Structure: The league is a round-robin format, with each coach playing every other coach over seven weeks. The top four players advance to semi-finals and top two go to the finals

Closed Team Sheet, Open Tera: Unlike standard VGC tournaments, the NABZ tourney is a closed team sheet format, meaning your opponents won't know specific moves or items until battle. However, Tera Types are open, providing some pre-battle information. This encourages counter-teaming and strategic flexibility week-to-week
