More than half of all private ambulances in Singapore have met new standards under the Voluntary Accreditation Scheme (VAS). It helps operators transition to the new rules that will kick in as early as 2021. Under the new rules, private ambulances will have to register as either emergency ambulances or medical transport services. Emergency ambulances must have equipment like automated external defibrillators, and adequate training must also be provided to the crew.
