AXEL HAXEL is a German DJ/Selector and passionate vinyl collector based in Lima who has spent the last 7 years digging Peruvian records from across the country. He runs a matinée party in open-air off locations serving auditory & culinary treats called “kitchensessions” and has collaborated excavating tracks for the recent compilation “Viva el Sábado” featuring forgotten Peruvian disco music released on Buh Records.

In this episode, AXEL H. embarks on a journey through the diverse landscape of organic, synthesized, and guitar-heavy grooves from Peru’s 70s and early 80s showcasing rare pieces from his collection that are most dear to him. While the selection he made could best be described as related to funk, soul, or disco, most tracks are rather cross-overs between styles representing the unique Peruvian sound rooted in the country’s rich heritage of cumbia, salsa, and rock music.
