Lindy Elkins-Tanton is a big thinker who, along with her husband James Tanton and son Turner Bohlen, has put her mind to solving a fundamental problem with formal education. Lindy shares their unique approach to enable the type of learning that today's world demands.

Dr. Lindy Elkins-Tanton has served on the faculty at MIT, directed the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism at the Carnegie Institution for Science and is currently the Director of Arizona State University’s School of Earth and Space Exploration. Lindy’s project team has been selected by NASA for consideration as a future key planetary mission to explore the metallic asteroid, “Psych”. She is the rarest breed of scientists: the kind that loves to teach.
