Welcome to historic Sleepy Hollow, New York where legends and lore abound. You probably have heard about the legendary Headless Horseman of Washington Irving's short story. Perhaps you aren't familiar with the other legend that's said to be buried in the Old Dutch Church Burying Grounds. The "Witch" of Sleepy Hollow's gravestone reads: "Hulda of Bohemia. Died c 1777. Herbalist, Healer, Patriot. Felled by the British while protecting the Militia. Buried here in gratitude for her sacrifice."
