What is the metabolic response to injury?

If you're looking for the three major events and stimulants of the metabolic response to injury they are:

Pain, Hypovolemia and Circulating Stuff!

Pain sets off a pathway beginning with corticotropin releasing hormone that ends in the adrenal gland with cortisol excretion and tachycardia.

Hypovolemia leads to stimulation of the baroreceptors and stretch receptors that also lead to tachycardia, squeeze and ADH secretion to increase intravascular volume.

Finally there is a lot of circulating stuff! Hormones, autonomic nervous systems molecules, and cytokines have a range of effects!
