The models are available under the *permissive Apache 2.0 licence* for academic and commercial use, with their **open weights downloadable via Hugging Face**. Importantly, both models have undergone **rigorous safety training and evaluation**, including filtering harmful data and implementing techniques to prevent unsafe prompts and prompt injections. The larger gpt-oss-120b model can run on a single 80GB GPU, while the gpt-oss-20b can run on just 16GB of RAM.
