World War II veteran, 1st Sgt. Robert Doucet, 95, is reflecting on his military career, which began while he was still in high school. He visited the St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial on Monday, October 28, to share recollections of his service in the US Army. His 25-year stint began in 1945 when he and his twin brother joined the army together. After his tour of duty during WWII, Doucet went on to serve in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He said the army taught him the value of both brotherhood and hard work.
