I started recording well before the storm arrived, so the video starts slow. My garage faces east, so the storm came from behind me. A hot and humid afternoon lead to the development of a line of severe thunderstorms. This line formed out ahead of an area of helicity left over from a previous MCS over Iowa the night before. I was under a severe thunderstorm watch, and then a warning was issued for this line for damaging winds. winds did get strong at times in the video. Of greater note was the extremely dangerous lightning. One bolt halfway through the video hit two doors down to be left.
