A few minutes later, she returned and discreetly slipped the note to the vet with shaking hands before rejoining her boyfriend.

When the workers read the note, they realized they needed to act quickly. Quietly, they alerted the police. The woman and her boyfriend were alone in a room, and it was a very tense wait before the police showed up. In a short time, they arrived, arrested the man, took his gun away from him, and consoled the woman, who burst into tears as soon as he was led out of the room.
