Today we go deep into the world of 4th gen 4runner rear bumper trims and trim a bit off the bottom of my bumper. I had been considering trimming the bottom of my bumper for some time, partly because I like to be a little adventurous, but also because ive been planning to build a rear swingout in the near future and have needed to trim to start measuring it out. With the 4th Gen 4Rrunner rear bumper being naturally a little bit longer, the cut adds an element of sleekness to the build.

For this job, I used mainly a Dremel with a cutting bit and then my angle grinder as I ran out of Dremel bits. Using masking tape to map out the cuts was definitely a good idea. To finish off the bumper cut, I used a 60 grit sandpaper to smooth the bottom edge. To finish off with a layer of rust protection, I sprayed the rear crossmember in Woolwax. In my opinion, every single 4th Gen 4runner would look better with a bumper trim!
