Steve D’Antonio wears many hats in the marine industry: Consultant, adventurer, traveler, writer, photographer, lecturer, and systems expert, to name a few.

Steve’s boating background started when he was a kid, growing up on Long Island and spending any moment he could on his family’s 15-foot runabout. As a result of many trips on Long Island Sound, the boat seemed to be perpetually breaking down. Return trips to the harbor were often in reverse, or under tow, but these experiences helped shape Steve’s future in the boating industry. As he grew up and graduated to larger vessels, Steve learned not to be reliant on others for an understanding of all things mechanical, but rather to take control and learn himself.

In this video, Steve and Jeff discuss the path Steve took, from a young, semester at sea and college political science graduate, to clerking at a law firm in New York City, to managing boat yards in the south, to owning his own marine consulting business. These different phases of his life, and his love of the sea, helped keep him on track to start and grow his specialized business, and help boaters sailing a variety of vessels have a safe, reliable, and seaworthy experience.
