Denis Villeneuve will direct the 26th James Bond film and serve as executive producer with Tanya Lapointe. Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce, following a shift in creative control from longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to Amazon MGM Studios. Villeneuve, a lifelong Bond fan, expressed deep reverence for the franchise, calling it a massive responsibility and personal honor. Pascal and Heyman praised Villeneuve’s passion for Bond and his vision. Villeneuve’s most recent film, Dune: Part Two, grossed over $700 million worldwide, and he is set to begin filming Dune: Part Three this summer for a 2026 release. The previous Bond film, No Time to Die, ended Daniel Craig’s five-film run. Villeneuve becomes the second non-British director in Bond history. A new screenwriter and actor for Bond have yet to be announced.
