STORYLINE:
Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong was accepting praise on Friday at the White House from President George W. Bush.
The cyclist, along with his wife and son, were in Washington D-C for a White House ceremony honouring his victory in this year's Tour de France.
Bush praised the fellow Texan for his victories in life and sports, noting his efforts to overcome cancer and as a three-time Tour de France winner.
Armstrong presented Bush with a bicycle and a yellow leader's jersey from last month's Tour.
And he had some words of encouragement for the cancer survivors who attended the event, telling them to "fight hard, stay tough and believe."
