SQL Server reporting services is Microsoft visualization tool built into SQL Server. Combined with Analysis Services and Integration service it provides Business Intelligence capabilities to SQL Server. Reporting Service isn’t as capable as PowerBI when it comes to charting controls but much of these drawbacks have since been addresses with the move to HTML 5. This video shows an older version of reporting services and while the steps remain the same its clear the reports clearly work only for internal tools. Most companies prefers to use a full-fledged reporting tool instead and SSRS has been relegated to the bottom of the pool as a result. Still the skills learned here are portable to pretty much other reporting tool , which makes SSRS a good place to start.
