Akal Takht’s religious punishment: Sukhbir Badal, SAD leaders face Gurudwara wrath

Leaders of Punjab’s Shiromani Akali Dal were seen cleaning toilets of Golden Temple. Daljit Singh Cheema, Bikram Singh Majithia, and Maheshinder Singh Grewal carried out the penance. This comes after Akal Takht punished former CM Sukhbir Singh Badal and his ministers. The seat of power for Sikhs also revoked the Fakhre-e-Qaum title bestowed on Prakash Singh Badal. SAD founder Prakash Singh Badal was the state’s longest serving chief minister, who passed away in 2023. Sukhbir, who is on wheelchair due to a hairline fracture, was seen in blue sewadar clothes serving at the shrine entrance.
