There are vulnerable people, often desperate for answers or treatment, with a somewhat valid history of mistrust in this field of medicine in which there are still so many unknowns, intensive and expensive treatments that are nowhere near 100% effective, with very few people that are truly trained.

Add to that the quick clips on social media that are more likely to go viral and spread misinformation and you have a good chance someone will try to take advantage.

I am by no means suggesting traditional medicine is the only answer.

I believe in mind body medicine, a personalized selection of evidence backed supplements, adjunctive therapies to promote overall wellness and the power of mental health support.

But please PLEASE be careful when considering miracle supplements or cleanses or cures found on social media especially if the claims seem too good to be true.

Question exaggerated claims and ask for evidence- "I took this and then got pregnant" is not a high enough level of evidence

Be wary of vague phrases like "hormone balancing" that sound nice but don't really describe something our bodies do

Check the credentials- look for SOME kind of training in the appropriate science
