Mastersmith David Lisch has become well known for his bowies and kitchen knives, but before all that, he was a blacksmith. This brute de forge Ranch Hand show's David's skill at the forge -- a skillset earned working at the forge for countless thousands of hours. David brings a skill level of forging that few bladesmiths possess.
David forged this Ranch Hand knife very closely to shape, beginning with a bar of his own feather pattern damascus, combining 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The blade features a forge finish along the flats and reveals the bold pattern in the grinds. His choice of steels, as well as his expert heat treatment, ensures that this is not only a beautiful knife, but also a high performing tool. The finger choil is nicely upset for a very comfortable grip.
The handle is premium sambar stag, set on a full tang using hand textured bronze pins. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered for a perfect balance. The natural texture of the stag provides a sure, comfortable grip. David's touchmark and MS mark are engraved on the spine. We recommend using camellia oil to protect the carbon steel blade and natural antler.
A zipper pouch is included for long term storage.
