গণঅধিকার পরিষদের নেতা ফারুক হাসানের উপর হামলার ঘটনা নিয়ে উত্তেজনা বাড়ছে। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কেন্দ্রীয় শহীদ মিনারে আয়োজিত একটি অনুষ্ঠানে তাকে আক্রমণ করা হয়। সংগঠনের সাধারণ সম্পাদক রাশেদ খান এই ঘটনার তীব্র নিন্দা জানিয়ে হামলাকারীদের দ্রুত গ্রেপ্তারের জন্য পুলিশকে এক ঘণ্টার আল্টিমেটাম দিয়েছেন।

এ ঘটনায় রাজনৈতিক অঙ্গনে নানান প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখা দিয়েছে। সংগঠনের পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়েছে, হামলাকারীদের বিচারের আওতায় না আনা হলে কঠোর কর্মসূচি পালন করা হবে।
