🤔 Is College / University a Profitable Business Scam?
🤔I’ve interviewed countless candidates; just last month, I reviewed over 100 resumes and hired only 1. While most had certificates or degrees, many lacked practical skills, critical thinking abilities, and real-world knowledge. Academia has clearly failed them; they were promised that a degree alone would guarantee success and lots of money, but reality paints a different picture.
🤔In my view, young adults should consider gaining work experience, developing valuable skills, and earning money after high school. This practical approach allows them to make more informed decisions about their futures rather than yielding to the pressure from schools and parents to immediately pursue a college degree and choose a major.
🤔From my experience, a significant number of candidates, around 80%, end up studying subjects they neither enjoy nor want to build a career in; they do it mostly just to please their parents. This often leads to regret, exacerbated by societal expectations to prove their intelligence through a 'degree'. It’s unsurprising that many suffer from depression, panic attacks, and anxiety, and I’m personally alarmed by how many rely on prescription medications.
🤔What’s especially heartbreaking is that so many of these young people have immense potential, but it’s squandered when they’re pressured into pursuing higher education solely to validate their worth. By encouraging practical experiences and informed decision-making early on, we can better nurture their talents and enable meaningful personal and professional growth.
🤔🎯🛑It’s time to address the shortcomings of our education system and prepare students more effectively for the real world. We must rethink our educational priorities and support young people in making well-informed career and life choices. Dalia

🎓🎉📚 University Administration: "Congratulations, you were just accepted to XYZ University! But before you begin, let's go over a couple of things first. Tuition is $50,000."
😨 Future Student: "Oh my god, that’s a lot of money."
🎓 University Administration: "I’m not done yet.
🏠 You’ll also have to live in the university dorms, which cost $9,000 per semester.
🍽️ And there's also a university meal plan, which is $6,000 per semester."
😕 Future Student: "Can I just skip the meal plan part? I feel like it would save money."
🙅♂️🎓 University Administration: "No ! You don’t have a kitchen in your dorm, so how would you cook for yourself?"
😩 Future Student: "I don’t know how I’m gonna pay for all of this…"
💸🎓 University Administration: "That’s what financial aid is for! …but it probably won’t cover everything. So you’ll still take out a loan for $40,000- $60,000."
😬 Future Student: "That’s a really big loan. Maybe I’ll just take a part-time job."
🎓💀 University Administration: "Great idea! You’re welcome to get a part-time job, just don’t work too hard, because if your grades start slipping, we’ll take your scholarships away.
🎓💀And if you don’t make payments on tuition, we’ll make it so you can’t sign up for classes.
🎓🚫 And if you’ve already graduated, we won’t give you your diploma.
😐 Future Student: "…"
😅🎓 University Administration: "We can’t wait for you to start paying us!
I MEANT to say, start classes!
