Adding Chocolate Neocaridina Shrimps 
to my low-tech no-filter Walstad aquarium ❤️🦐

I drip acclimate the neocaridina shrimp for one hour before adding them to my aquarium.

Every 15 mins, i will remove some water from the acclimate container to prevent water overflow.

Plants in this aquarium:
1) Cryptocoryne Parva
2) Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown
3) Vallisnera
4) Pearlweed
5) Dwarf water lettuce

Substrate:
Potting soil capped with sand and lava rocks.

Light:
IKEA TERTIAL Work Lamp with Philips 8W LED Coolday light

Photo period: 10 hours with 4 hours siesta period. Light on for 5 hours, off for 4 hours and then turn on again for 5 hours.

According to Diana Walstad, plants consume the available CO2 by around midday. Taking a siesta allows the CO2 levels to replenish, providing enough for the plants to use again in the afternoon.
